Job Overview (What You’ll Do):

As the Channel Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that align with key business objectives, ensuring a consistent and unified brand experience across all marketing channels. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, such as sales, product, and brand, as well as external partners, to create and deliver marketing materials that support consumer success across retail, wholesale, eCommerce and international sales channels. 

This position will manage seasonal product launches, retail marketing, and point-of-sale (POS) programs, while developing strong relationships with wholesale and retail partners. Additionally, they will provide key insights on channel-specific trends and competitive analysis to senior leadership and other stakeholders. 

Your ability to manage multiple projects, balance long- and short-term initiatives, collaborate with key stakeholders and present performance results will be essential in driving strategic marketing direction and supporting Cotopaxi’s continued growth in the outdoor gear and apparel industry.

 

Job Responsibilities (How You’ll Do It):

  • Lead and manage an integrated marketing calendar in support of key business objectives in collaboration with various internal stakeholders, such as senior management, sales, product and brand teams.
  • Manage the timely execution of seasonal product and other campaigns, including the creation of deliverable briefs and creative toolkits to be delivered across all marketing channels, including sales, content, organic social, PR and media, wholesale, retail, corporate, and international; ensuring a unified and consistent brand experience across all channels.
  • Partner with the commercial team to create marketing materials to support consumer success, including sell-in process, line reviews, and ongoing selling needs.
  • Manage the production and execution of all projects needed for channel-specific marketing strategy, in partnership with the sales leaders across owned channels (including eCommerce, retail, and corporate) and wholesale accounts (including key accounts, specialty retailers and international) based on sales business priorities.
  • Share learnings and be a key expert on channel specific trends, competitive findings and industry news with senior leadership, sales, and marketing teams on an ongoing basis. 
  • Build effective and productive relationships with wholesale and international buying and marketing teams.
  • Develop and manage Cotopaxi’s POS/POP program.
  • Support seasonal sales cycle with bi-annual sales meetings, managing the production of all sell-in collateral and timelines including merchandising of Elastic B2B platform.
  • Support any trade show efforts, including but not limited to booth agency management, run-of-show and seasonal booth collateral development.    
  • Support seasonal product imagery and product information delivery to dealers and wholesale partners as needed.    
  • Partner with the community engagement team and retail store managers on event marketing opportunities for retail and wholesale based on priority needs.
  • Report and present performance results to leadership, summarizing findings and delivering overall recommendations for ongoing programs.
 

The Ideal Candidate (What You Need to Succeed):

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business or a related field, or equivalent related experience.   
  • 5+ years in retail and/or brand marketing, preferably in the outdoor gear and apparel industry.
  • Experience in wholesale, retail and trade marketing, having directly worked with big-box retailers.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing both short- and long-term projects in a deadline driven environment.
  • Great understanding of the consumer and the ability to work with data to drive strategic direction, analyze campaigns and develop effective marketing plans.
  • Market awareness and a passion for the outdoor and fashion industries and trends.
  • Proven experience building and creating compelling omni-channel integrated marketing toolkits.
  • Ability to guide creative direction through clear and effective communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, people-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to manage and develop relationships across groups and functions at all levels of the organization.
  • Patience and foresight to help build out new programs and develop process efficiencies for the future.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of resourcefulness, flexibility, and strategic growth mindset.
  • Ability to understand and enforce proper representation of the Cotopaxi brand.
